Joint Ventured Cancer Center Development

EASTERN REGION:

A community hospital, an academic medical center and a for profit radiation therapy practice requested assistance in identifying models for joint cancer center development at the community hospital. ECG facilitated meetings between the parties, provided models for collaboration, projected patient volumes, developed financial proformas and collaborated with local architects in determining facility space requirements.

ECG consulting services included:

• ECG facilitated discussions focused on joint-ventured cancer center development for a community hospital, an academic partner and a for-profit radiation therapy partner.

• Working collaboratively with the parties, ORC developed detailed market, financial, staffing and space plan projections for a new ambulatory cancer center.

• Academic practice patterns for key sites of cancer were incorporated in financial and market projections for care delivery in the community setting.

Outcome:

The joint-ventured Cancer Center opened in the Fall of 2017.
